Oscar X Fountain Pen Review

I've talked about it before, but I see an elegant pen as second to only a watch as the most important accessory for a man wearing tailored clothing on a day-to-day basis.

Sadly, it can be hard to find a fountain pen that is both affordable and attractive. Happily, this Oscar X Palermo Silver pen is both. The silver and gold color is classic and the hatched grip is both functional and visually pleasing. I've used it for two weeks at work now and my initial review is quite positive.

The appearance is sharp and the having a clip, unlike my Kaweco Lilliput, has been helpful to keep it from falling into the bottom of jacket pockets. Unlike some other fountain pens, I've never had any problems with ink flow.

It's easily on the slimmer end of fountain pens, but I would prefer it just slightly thinner. Having a way to attach the cap to the pen when writing would be also appreciated. The pen comes with a medium nib, which writes crisply, but allowing the customer to choose nib size would be an improvement.

At $95, the pen is fairly priced. Luckily, they're offering 20% with the code ARAKE20. Using the code doesn't get me anything, but it does get you a nice pen for slightly cheaper and that's more than enough for me.
